Regional Ambassador Training

Following the positive responses that I received regarding regional meet ups for Ambassador training, the format of the day has been finalised to offer Ambassadors an exclusive morning training session in which the new USB training resource stick will be handed out and explained.  This will also offer you the opportunity to engage with other Ambassadors in your local area and discuss any concerns or ideas that you may have for the future of the scheme with us.

We will be inviting existing Members, as well potential investors and Ambassadors, to the afternoon session that will include a presentation from a member of staff and also a guest speaker.  We believe that many more fair trade supporters than our current 8700 Members and 96 Ambassadors would welcome a way to use some of their relative wealth or time to help poor communities to trade their way out of poverty.  With that in mind I would ask you to invite friends, colleagues, neighbours and members of your community to accompany you and to meet with us during the afternoon session.  We also will be promoting these events at local volunteer centres, universities and fair trade networks to enable potential Ambassadors and investors to join us and learn more about how they can participate.

Experience has shown that such events are enjoyable, informative and often an inspirational call to action for all who attend.  We have allotted some time for networking and discussion about Fairtrade Fortnight (22nd February – 7th March 2010) and how members of your local community can learn about Shared Interest and become involved with our work.

We would welcome your input for these sessions.  By uniting Ambassadors and Members within local communities we hope to continually strengthen our network of support and find new opportunities in remote areas that we have not been enabled to target in the past.  Invitations to these events will follow in due course.

Please continue to keep in touch and send any contributions to me or call 0191 233 9135 to speak to me directly.
