Shared Interest at Glasgow Fairtrade Experience – Fairtrade Fortnight 2009

Sarah and I were representing Shared Interest last weekend at the Fairtrade Experience in Glasgow.  This was an outstanding event with over 3,500 fair trade passionate people in attendance.  Sarah and I both commented on the journey home that this was one of the best events we had ever attended.  We handed out loads of Shared Interest application forms and Quarterly Returns to people who were very interested in learning how they could invest in fair trade.

The two highlights of the event were hearing Nasser Abufarha, the Managing Director of Canaan Fair Trade speak about their historic achievement of producing the world’s first olive oil to receive Fairtrade certification. Much of Canaan’s success is owed to investments made by Shared Interest which allowed them to build new facilities that allowed them to greatly increase their production capacity.

I managed to get a quick interview of Nassar that you can see in the video below.

The other highlight was having the opportunity to be one of the speakers at the event.  You can see my presentation in the video below.  Sorry in advance for the poor audio quality – we are still getting the technology sorted.

You can help promote Shared Interest by rating these videos and sharing the urls with your contacts.
