Tea in Tanzania Anyone?

Shared Interest recently approved a loan for a producer based in Tanzania which has enabled them to complete their fair trade cafe.  Handicrafts Marketing (MIKONO) used the loan to purchase vital kitchen equipment such as a fridge, a freezer, food display cabinets and even a juice dispenser.

Handicrafts Marketing wanted to create a unique fair trade cafe where they can serve fair trade beverages along with local dishes.  The cafe is an extension to their existing cultural centre, which opened in 2006.  The centre has provided tourists a taste of Tanzanian culture where they can purchase locally produced fair trade handicrafts, watch traditional dances and now experience and taste local cuisine.

The following are some photos of the cafe and the appliances that were purchased.  Good luck with the new fairtrade restaurant!
